Topic of Simba!
Okay so the other day I was trying to think about what my topic was going to be for my enthusiast blog and I could not think what I could possibly write about endlessly for three months. Then it dawned on me. I am completely obsessed with my crazy cat Simba :) My roommates and I took him in this time last year because he was a stray :( He is now about a year and a month old and is the funniest most entertaining orange cat anyone could ever meet. I have plenty of hysterical stories, TONS of adorable pictures, and even video footage of him...Well this really makes me sound like a crazy cat lady BUT seriously you need to meet him and you will through my blog and come to realize why I decided to write my entire blog about him. Hope your looking forward to getting to know one of my very best friends! haha

"Blogs as Clubhouses"
Before coming to this class, I understood the term blog as a way for people to post about their day-to-day nonsense for random people on the internet to read...sort of as a public diary. After learning a bit more in class and reading the article "Blogs as Clubhouses" it gave me a better understanding and more of an interest because it is a way for people to express their passion and opinion about a certain topic. It gives people with the same interest something to enjoy reading and learn from.
The article was very interesting and helpful to read especially being a new blogger and not really knowing what to blog about. "Blogs as Clubhouses" was the most helpful because it gave the future bloggers some example blogs to check out and learn from. These example bloggers have a clear focus and surely stick with it. Reading the example blogs one can see the six factors that Stefanac requires in creating a successful blog. Using all of these terms: regularly, passion, conversational, discovery, personality, and dedication will help to create a successful blog.
The number one component I would say is personality. When reading the example blogs you can see that each person uses a specific style of writing to express themselves as an individual. We all have a way of talking that most people, especially our friends and family, can translate into our personality. But reading someone's personality is a bit harder, right? Not with these experienced bloggers! There are ways to show your personality and create the person you are through words. (As we talked about in class today, with using Rhetoric. "Using language to shape our reality") I am very interested to look back at my blogs at the end of the course and see if I or any of my friends can relate my personality to the words and style I use throughout my blogs.

1st Blog
I know I enjoy writing, but not so sure how much I'll enjoy blogging or if I'll be any good at it. I once attempted to start a blog made one post and realized I didn't like it...lol
Anyway, I am excited to take this class. I think it will be a great opportunity to learn and keep up with electronic media and the rapid growth of social networks. I know most companies are focusing on social networks as a way to communicate with their customers. Social Media is an easier way for customers to contact representatives, rather than waiting for 20 min on the phone while you listen to staticky classical music and a voice recorder that tells you how many people are left before you until someone from across the country helps you.. blah blah blah
To get back on track...I am also looking forward to using writing in the design aspect. I took WRT 302 and we used writing in a design sense... mostly analyzing websites and their use of colors and words, I absolutely loved it.
